All - OK guys here's what I did, let's see how long it lasts. I had great plans this Sunday afternoon to get on Suzi and go see some of my fssnoc lunch friends but no--, I got to spend the afternoon in the garage on a re-do to see what is happening here. Put the bike on the lift at the highest position, wanted an eye level view. Tore into it differently this time, took off the speedo cable below and the vacuum line at the carb. Found this much quicker than my usual way which is to find the most difficult method possible first and then stick with it. Removed the top of the carb and lo and behold the float was STUCK! No amount of vacuum would have lifted this puppy. I mean it was stuck. Tapping on the side of the carb didn't even loosen it. A pair of needle nose pliers on the little screws finally made it give way and break free. Didn't notice any carbon build up since yesterday, so what's happening here? Well, I got out my bottle of FITZ metal polish and went to work on the slide, over and over to where it was really slick to the touch and then sprayed every thing down good with WD-40 put the slide back in and wow did it work smoooooth. Buttoned it all back up took off for a 80mph loop. All's well in "Little Sweden,USA" tonite! I'll keep you informed if it does it again. It's still a mystery.
